The problem

In Colombia, an estimated 60% of retail happens through informal vendors — fruit stalls, clothing carts, prepared food, neighbourhood services. None of them have a digital storefront. Buyers in the same barrio do not know what is available two blocks away. Cash is the only payment option, so order tracking is non-existent, disputes are resolved by shouting, and the vendor has no idea what they sold until the end of the day. WhatsApp groups fill the gap informally but break at scale: 200+ members, no search, no cart, no way to filter by proximity.

What I built

Barriotech is a Next.js 15 multi-tenant SaaS that turns a phone number into a storefront. A vendor signs up in under two minutes, claims a geo-located pin on a Leaflet map, lists SKUs with photos taken from the camera, and starts receiving orders the same afternoon. Buyers discover what is nearby without leaving the conversation — the storefront renders inside WhatsApp via Evolution API, but the canonical experience lives on barriotech.com.co. Wompi handles card, Nequi, and Bancolombia payments so vendors never touch cash; the platform disburses weekly. The admin panel ships with 5 service categories and per-tenant theming so the same codebase can host competing brands without code changes.

Geo-located discovery — Leaflet map with vendor pins and a radius filter so buyers find the closest stall in under three taps.

Service catalog — five categories (restaurants, fruits, clothing, services, prepared food) surfaced from a single tenant.

Vendor auth — phone + SMS, with the same visual identity the storefront inherits.
