Superllantas — tire e-commerce with vehicle-fitment search and WhatsApp checkout

A regional tire retailer needed an online catalog that fit the way Colombian buyers actually shop — by car model, not by spec sheet. We built a fitment-first storefront that ends in a WhatsApp conversation, not a checkout funnel.

The problem

Tire retail in LATAM is high-consideration, low-frequency, and offline. Buyers research online for weeks before buying — they cross-reference price, brand, vehicle fitment, and stock across three or four sites, then they WhatsApp the shop to negotiate. The standard e-commerce checkout funnel does not match this: it pushes for a credit card on the first interaction, before the buyer has decided which tire to buy or whether the shop even has it in stock. The result is abandoned carts and a sales team that has to manually look up every order.

What I built

The storefront is a fitment-first catalog. The home page asks for make, model and year first — once selected, the catalog filters down to the exact SKUs that fit. Buyers can save their car, share a shortlist, and request a quote via WhatsApp with one tap (the shop gets a structured message with the car, the SKUs, and the buyer's name). Stock is updated as the shop marks items sold; out-of-stock items stay indexed but are hidden from the fitment result. The result is a storefront that meets the buyer where they are — research-first, WhatsApp-second — instead of forcing them through a checkout that does not match how they actually buy.

Scope & architecture

Fitment-first search — make / model / year before catalog
Vehicle profile saved per buyer (cookies + localStorage)
Shortlist + WhatsApp quote CTA with structured payload
Stock awareness — out-of-stock items stay indexed but hidden from fitment
Editorial product pages with tire-size specs and brand comparison
Mobile-first — most LATAM buyers shop on their phone in the shop parking lot
